DanceSport is all about balancing the artistry of dance with the athleticism of a physically taxing sport. What needs to come across as an effortless succession of steps or moves to music is, in fact, a hard aerobic workout.
The term dancesport applies only to the International Style of competitive ballroom (often referred to as Standard or Modern) dancing and Latin dancing. Today, it includes the following style categories:
International Standard
International Latin
American new vogue
